that would be any of the JCPs or the IJ and i don't wanna handle them either lol

Maz is my big Dumerils girl, about 6ft, she's soppy tame. the other biggies can be unpredictable at times. all the smaller boas are pretty good and obviously the corns are too.

i reacon take an easy to handle, and a not so easy to handle for the experiance. They will obviously come across not so happy reps, so is benificial to see both sides of handling.

I second tarotpodge's idea. Take a couple so they have an idea of what to expect if an animals a bit grumpy and unwell.

I would suggest taking a corn snake as they are the most popular snake kept as pets and so the ones that they are most likely to come across in the surgery.

good point thistle, a corn it is! prolly spruce (snow), oscar (caro) or poppy (miami) as they're all a decent size, feeding well and good to handle

might take hatchie no.2 to give them a good example of 'defensive behaviour' too lol

and i'm taking Henry the leo for a bit of variety - for him and them! though everyone wants to see the day geckos they stress very easily and aren't generally a handleable species

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

i would take something medium sized and friendly to build their confidence and handling ability, then some bigger stuff and finally something nasty and bitey :)

build up their confidence with something nice and friendly, then bring them back down to earth with something a little less enthusiatic! My old boss tried to catch me out with her horses and sent me in to get her stallion out that nobody had been able to get hold of for months on my first day over there. I had no idea what all the fuss was about though cos i walked out his stable with him like a puppy on a lead cos nobody had pre warned me about him i just went in without any hesitation and he was fine. I didnt believe them that he'd sent every person who had worked there to hospital til i saw the scars to prove it lol. Although he got me eventually just took him a year to do it! I still have his teeth marks scarred into my leg 6 years later! I won though...i signed the papers for castration lol :o)

well they went in on Friday.......
Maz - 6ft Dumerils
Chester - 5ft male caro/normal corn
Henry - adult male leo
and hatchie no.2 who failed to perform and demonstrate 'defensive behaviour' lol and it's been a little love to deal with since!

we demonstrated watching them at rest and assessing mood/behaviour, picking up and holding for examination and opening their mouths for further inspection - Maz wasn't keen on the last bit and got a bit huffy lol

thanks for the comments guys
