Having been interested in snakes for many years I have finally taken the plunge at 54 and bought my first corn, a lovely 12 week Okeetee and plan to eventually get another two. Learning all the time and reading the posts here certainly is of great help. My only slight concern at the moment is she tends to strike when taking her out of the viv, obviously it does not hurt but is this normal at this age. Thanks. |

hi and welcome, and yes the striking is normal for a baby snake, it will see everything as a threat. In time it will calm down |

Hi and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on getting your first snake, and i see I don't have to warn you about how addictive they are since you are already contemplating more lol |

heya and welcome
as the snake is only 3 months old, what size viv is it in? a larger than necessary enclosure could possibly be the root of the problem |

Hi and welcome have you tried the sock trick? put clean sock in a pocket for the day, put in faun, snake gets used to your scent |

Okeetee is a good choice. I'd have gone for one of those. Sadly none in my area so got a Carolina instead. |
