Hey guys,
My partner has a year old corn snake that's managed to escape whilst we've been away. We've laid traps, foil, turned the heat up in one room, looked around etc. Main thing we're worried about though is the cat that will be coming home tomorrow. Any one have have any tips or experience with other pets and escaped snakes? |

I have had 2 escaped snakes with my cat around and once while we had a dog too. The cat could actually prove to be quite useful in helping to detect the snakes whereabouts. Just make sure you are on the watch out for the cat showing particular interest in an area. It might be an idea to shut the cat in a room where you dont think the snake will be when you are not around to supervise.
Other than that, read through this thread for some pointers on finding the escapee and don't lose hope. Snakes have turned up months after being lost even sometimes being found outside. |

just to backup what everyone else has said - yep, cat proved invaluble and found my missing snake (was a few years ago mind) her behaviour making it obvious that she'd found something interesting, when i investigated it was my amel stripe, hadn't even realised she was on the run, she can't have been out long, but had managed to pop a vent out of the viv |

Thanks for the advice guys - we found the little guy last night. We were just about to give up and leave the flat for the night in the hope that he'd feel safer with us not around and head for the traps we set, when I turned around and saw him slithering out of the boiler cupboard. He must have been well hidden because it was the first place I checked! He's lovely and healthy though, he was very thirsty when we found him but apart from that perfectly well. :) Huzzah! |

Awww thanks guys - yeh it is a huge relief to have him back! I still can't believe we just found him in plain sight as we were about to give up for the night! He's now in snakey 'prison', this being a smaller box that he can't possibly get out of which is placed inside the larger tank lol. |
