The heatmat goes under approx a third of the tub. Hatchlings feed on pinkie mice.

So to start off with its a pretty simple see up! Didn't think its be that easy lol.

What about handling a hatching? i know not to handle them till around a week after getting a hatching, or for a couple of days after feeding, but are they not lightning quick?

They are fairly quick yes. You just need to be alert for the first few minutes after that they calm down and happily explore.

tupperware tub or similar with holes drilled
heat mat
water dish/bowl
some kind of plant decoration
hide of some kind
substrate (would kitchen roll do?)
And obviously some frozen pinkies

next question;

Anyone got any hatchings for sale in the north west?? As i don't really know all the different morphs i just want something with loads of colour

And that's all i need?

Im presuming that as the snake grows you just get a larger tupperware box? but at what point do you need to add a proper lighting system?

You don't need a lighting system at all, as long as the room they are in gets natural daylight, that's enough for corns. Some people use led light strips in vivs but that's more to make the viv look nicer than to actually benefit the snake.

You will need 2 hides in the tub, 1 in the warm end and another in the cool side. You don't need to buy expensive hides though, a toilet roll tub cut in half lengthways makes a great hide.

Once you get your plant in there it will look fine. You will need to have the probes further over on the warm side though. Also I would probably cut the loo roll in half lengthways that is on the warm side. I'm no sure how much the loo roll will insulate the snake from the heat if he sleeps in there so you could do with it having an open bottom
