As you aware Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust met with yourself and Richard Brook to request that the event on Sunday took place with a ruling of no sale of any animal. We were clear that if this request could not be met, Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust would be unable to allow the event to take place at a venue under the Trust portfolio.
Further to the position outlined in the letter by the International Herpetological Society, it is with regret that I must inform you that Doncaster Culture Leisure Trust will not allow the event to take place at The Dome. This decision is in relation to the event scheduled on Sunday 17th June 2012.
Have just been reading a post on another site that was saying that the show was being threatened by some animal activist group. So am wondering is this just a coincidence ?
Basically, everything pretty much rests on a hearing tomorrow to see if the show can held on Sunday. This will probably effect ever reptile show being held this year!
What a load of BS! Do these people not get that the whole reason we go to these shows is that we love animals?? Would have been my first reptile expo but I'm not driving an hour and a half from Manchester to not be able to buy a lovely new snake...
They're in court today with the Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust for a hearing regarding breach of contract, but haven't seen any new information other than that as of yet.
Yes we mighta won but theres no clarification yet on details eg is the sale of reptiles permitted ? awaiting details ive been sat here 3 hours getting a very numb bum constantly refreshing the page lol yes im that sad!! i need to know whats going on as im going as part of a car share i have 2 snakes to pickup but if sales arent permitted the car shares off and ill have to have my snakes couriered ugh
