Martha is doing well and putting on weight :)

The time has come to move her up to 2 pinkies. My question is how long do you leave between the first and the second pinkie?
I was thinking of offering her the second pinkie as soon as she had finished swallowing the first. Is this correct?

Straight after the first

I usually wait until the bulge from her first is a little way down, and then offer the 2nd

and I would say 2 pinkies between 5 and 7 days

if after 5 feeds she is taking 2 pinkies you might want 2 consider moving up to one fuzzy every 5 days

I usually wait until the first one has moved down a bit and the snake has started to move around again.

Hi, we do same as what kdlang has already said.

We started giving Cornelius 2 pinkies a couple of weeks ago & it's going well & he's putting weight on which is also good.

Glad to hear it kneon! We were worried when we first gave Cornelius his first 2 together but, fingers crossed, he seems fine taking them.

Glad she took the two pinkies ok, always worrying when changing feeds. My Zeus took two pinkies with ease but I was worried when I moved him up to fuzzies.
Morse however is still on one pinkie and I'm worried to move him up to two as I have had a couple of regurges in the past with him!
Will have to be brave at some point soon.

How do you know when would be the right time to move up to feeding 2 pinkies? I have only just fed my 1st snake for the first time tonight and once the pinkie was a third down the body the bulge was not that noticeable in it.

Hi Donnie, i would give a couple of feeds of single pinkies first just so you know how well he feeds, any problems etc, if after a couple of feeds there is still no noticeable lump and he's feeding well try 2

Thanks, should I keep the single pinkie feeds at 7 day intervals or should I reduce the time by a day? According to the dates that I got with her she has been regular on 7 day feeds apart from once where it was 10 days (hatched in September if it helps).

The shops keep them to 7 days as maintenance, basically enough to keep them alive, but not really enough to grow, i would go every 5 -7 days

not 100% set in stone, but pretty much an idea of feeding below

single pinky every 5 days
2 pinkies every 5 - 7 days
1 fluffy every 5 - 7 days
if neccessary 2 fluffs every 7 days
1 small mouse every 7 days
1 medium/large mouse every 7 - 10 days

you move to the next level, when you hardly see a bulge or there is no bulge whilst maintaing the size of the prey to 1.5x the widest girth of snakey

some keepers have snakes that can go from 1 fluffy to 1 small mice, and others step it by giving 2 fluffys

when serving 2 prey, wait until the first one is swallowed, snakey moves about then offer the second
