Failed again guys. I think tomorrow I'll try and scoop from under the hide, that way he can't see me. What do you think? |

You could make sure he doesn't see you if you wait until night-time, turn off the lights and put on a pair of night vision goggles. That will give you a definite advantage to ambush him.
Just open the viv door and go straight in, scoop and lift without faffing about or snatching at him. Both of these will stress him. Going to slow makes you look and feel like a predator to him. Too fast and he thinks he is being attacked. The 'S' pose is just a sign that he's not sure of you. It is him bluffing and making out that he's a fierce beast of legend.
Once you have him in your hand let him run through your fingers, around your hand or even up your arm. Don't grip or hold tight, just let him pass him from one hand to the other if he stretches out. He will eventually realise that it isn't so bad and relax more and more.
Give it another go and don't worry about defence 'bites', a lot of the time it is just a head slap. I've had more accidental bites when feeding than actual attacks when handling. It is barely more than a little nip and nothing to dial 999 for. |

I went to the shop and they were out of night vision goggles unfortunately. I did however have another go ands manage to get him out. I think it could have been done a lot quicker though. Took me a few minutes. Put him on my bed for 1 minute and he pooped !!! |

Welcome to the Poop Club. You will learn to wait a couple of days after feeding before taking him out to play.
You need to upload to Photobucket (or similar) and post the link to it in your message. There is a 'sticky' in the Photo Forum which shows you how. I use DropBox which runs from my Desktop. It means I can keep high image quality. |

He was fed a week ago. He's already done his pooping. Of well could have been worse he could have pooped on me. Pics are on my phone I was hoping there was a quick uploader. I'll give the sticky thing a look anyway |

Well done for finally getting him out to play. Not so good for him pooping on your bed but like you say he could have done it on you which is an experience and the smell on your hands is lovely |

The link works to Photobucket but the pic does not show up on here. Paste the IMG code onto your post and it will show. |

Can't seem to find the IMG code. Maybe because I'm using the app rather than the desktop site. I'll have a play at the weekend :) |

nice looking snake...

use the link for the image when u choose "share" on Snapbucket... then select the img url, and pop it in img tags for BBcode... <img> http://photobucket.com/mysnakepic.jpg </img> using squarre brackets [] instead of <> The / in the bbcode signifies the end of that piece of code.
Hope this helps |

bronson is a awesome name!! after charles bronson!! legend!! haha i say the same as okeetee mick! just do it!! when snakes pull their heads back they tend to go into an s position doesnt always mean their going to strike, try picking him up from the back of the snake. or place your hand in to his level and let him come to you. remember snakes predators like big birds come from above some snakies get frightened due to instinct! but the more you hesitate and hang around the more its going to annoy the snake. so just think "whats the worst that can happen" ? nothing thats going to hurt you anyway :)
you can do it :) good luck :) |
