sorry about earlier post..
my corn snake is male and when we rescued him last november he was a huge boy very fat .double chinned. slow. not shed properly.the lady said he ate all the left overs when her other snakes did not eat..
first problem is the lumps.. we think he is very fat for a snake, i will try to upload some photos, he has a double chin but the lumps on his middle to his tail, kinds move slightly when rubbed, sort of like blocked eggs,,,definatly a boy? yes he is .. someone said he may have a food blockage and give him regular baths,,so we have and when he is in the bath he moves freely unlike in the viv..he also releases gas...it sounds very strange then he will do a very mini poo ... since november 2011 he has eaten nothing...this is the second problem?? any ideas? please...he has not gone any more slower than usual or been under active.?? |

Pics certainly will help although he does sound like a chunky boy. Are you able to measure and weigh him. If you pop a box on some digital scales zero them and put him in then we can have an idea how bad the problem is. This software can help with measuring him http://serpwidgets.com/main/measure
Did you get any records with the snake? If you didn't and you haven't been keeping them then it might be a good idea to start as you will be able to keep an accurate check on his weight, eating and shedding habits. I also record when mine poo so that I have all information if I need to take them to the vets.
OK now we need more information about your set-up. Viv size? Heat mat or bulb? Do you have a thermostat? What kind of thermometer are you using? What are the temperatures and where are you measuring them from? What else is in his viv? How often are you feeding him? What methods have you tried?
One more point is that after not feeding since November he probably hasn't got much in him to poo out. He should still be passing urates though which will look like a white/grey chalky substance when it's dried. |
