I've never seen one in the flesh before even though I heard one on a horse trek in California. They are stunning, and it rattled at me and anyone else in a 1 mile radius. |

It was an experience and an unexpected one too, I was looking at an albino gopher snake that I like and I could hear this noise, gophers are known to imitate rattlers but it was at rest then I spotted the new display and had a look and there it was all curled up, tail in air rattling away. |

As cool as I have no doubt they having one in captivity scares me a little.I'm not sure about UK law but rattle snakes are the sort of thing I think you'd have to check local bylaws about here. often cities won't let you keep animals they classify as dangerous my city has specific law aginst burmese pythons, I've never had to look into poisonous snakes but I'd probably be really nervous if I found one in my local petshop |

Its very true, you have to have a license for DWA. They are notoriously difficult to get. The rattler wasn't for sale my local shop has several display animals including a monitor that wanders round the place like a guard lizard lol. |
