Hi there, hope you are well and have a good weekend.

Was down at the pet shop oggling over the little corns and continuing my research by asking a million questions to the guy there and he claimed that the corns on sale would only grow to about 2 ft which contradicts everything i have read about them so far. I pointed out to the guy that on the snake cabinet there was a poster which said they could grow to 1.8m but he insisted that these ones would never reach that size...

Has any one heard of this, "dwarf" corns? I later met in the same shop a reptile loving lady who said hers at home measures 7 ft, and that they just carry on growing when given excellent care and good feeding., so now i am confused.

Thanks for help
X

never heard of a corn growing to be that small.
some species of milk and king snakes will only grow to about 2 foot. As far as corns though? Nopes. My adult lad is 5 and half foot.

definatley not unless you seriously neglect them when it comes to food!
7ft on the other hand sounds a bit sheepish also lol
most corns reach around 4-5 foot which sounds huge but they are rarely stretched out in a big line
and when curled up the look quite small (compared to some snakes!)

2ft and 7ft sound off to me! I guess a corn hybrid of some sort may get 7ft maybe if fed loads?

The smallest corn I have is 3ft 8" and shes like 12 or 13 years old. and shes under size due to laying eggs at a too young of an age, my 13 year old lad is 5ft, maybe a tad bigger.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3

Everything I have read states between 4-6ft for an adult. If he is absolutely adament they'll only grow to 2 ft then they must be a cross between a corn and a hognose lol!!

all corns will be different sizes and if i remember rightly some one may correct me but the females tend to grow a bit bigger than the males. My male is just short of 2.5 foot but i think he has been a problem feeder in rep shop but they have not said anything.

I must agree with other think 4-5 foot on average is bout right but as i say they all grow to diff sizes. Think it could also depend on morph of corn as to size they grow

7ft sounds ridiculously huge to me, I think we can probably put that one down to people being bad at estimating height when they have to discribe a person so it's likely the same is true for a snake who's often curled up

OMG - they do look like a cross between a corn and a hognose lol!!

(No, I'm not suggesting for a moment that they really are, just the colouring is similar to a hoggie lol!)

So was he actually selling them as Dwarf Corns Primrose, or just claiming they were small ones?
