So after viewing a feeding (of a different corn) and having a handle i now have my very own cornsicle motley corn snake

I wasnt happy with the living arrangements i was given with the snake after what i have read on here so i decided today to do a little shopping, i printed the list on the 101 sticky and went to tri-mar in cambourne.

1x exo terra faunarium
1x Habistat Thermostat Mat Stat
1x Twin digital Thermometer
1x Bag of aspen
1x Lucky Reptile Jungle Plants
1x small piece of bog wood

Ive been home set it all up following the guide in the sticky (my faun now looks extremely similar now, which is why i followed it) and got it all up to temp.

I took Willow (The snake) out of her small traveling box for the 1st time by myself....went very well, had a play for a while, shes such a well behaved girl, she got a little skitish when the cat decided to come downstairs and have a look, one swit boot up the **** and he was gone so decided to place her in her new home.

Straight away shes burrowed slightly and gone to sleep.

This is my worry, i was expecting her to have a look round find the warm and cool areas have a nosey about but no...she just curled up and went to sleep....is this normal?

I feel much happier now with the thought that she has a proper home and all the stuff she needs to be happy.

Pictures will follow in the next few days

cheers

she is fine. Just settling in. The general rule of thumb is to let a snake settle in for 7 days, only going in to change water. She will probably explore when its quiet at night and she can do so in peace xx

Do you uys think i should remove the aspen and lay down newspaper for a while until she is a little bigger. i know it wont look half as good as it does now but she wouldnt be able to burrow and hide away and me not being able to find her/take her out and run the ris of scaring her and stressing her out?

I wouldn't worry too much. The only problem is that if she's doing tiny poops you'll probably miss them. I kept my smaller ones on kitchen roll until they started doing bigger ones because of this, just so I could keep an eye on it.

Yep, ive had her out this morning (getting on really well) and i cleaned the aspen out and re set all her bits and bobs.

Already she seems a little more lively and browsing around her new place.
