Hey guys, new to the forum after getting my first corn snake... Been waiting to put up a new corn snake post and now its a lost corn snake post
It was actually my sisters bf's snake as he has the snakes but we got a corn snake (around 2-3 weeks ago)which was helping me get over my fear of snake's .. Sooo we had everything set up, he wasnt that big only a big baby, was eating fine and had his first shed, was all good...
I wouldn't hold him but I ended up holding a much bigger corn snake somewhere else and was ready to hold our one and get over my fear of snakes... He was living in my room as iv got the better temperatures but now when im officially ready to hold him he's escaped!!
We tipped my room upside down to look for him and had no luck what's so ever BUUUTTTT found the most unexpecting thing ever!!! I have 7 cats in and out of my room on a daily basis and what did we find a LIVE MOUSE!!! Never seen one in or around the house in like 10 years!!
There was a hole where they can get in and out into the walls or something, im at the top of the house so have no idea where they've come from but the paper I used to block the hoel from spiders has been chewed quite a lot =S
Looks like Polo (the snake) has all he needs and found his own home On the plus side I think he will get rid of the mice problem... On the down side I don't think il see him again and if my other sister who dosn't know about mr snakey finds him will kill him and me!!
Can't believe I didn't even get to hold him going to miss little Polo
Seen a lot of posts about lost snakes so will try and use them methods to find him...
Just not happy
Thanks for the long read and wish me luck =) |

Good luck finding him, and dont give up hope. They turn up usually.
And check EVERYWHERE! Im guessing you've had a look at the sticky and put down a heat mat and hide? and maybe a pinky or some mouse bedding to try lure it out.
If i were you, id keep the cats out of your room for a while, cos i doubt he'll come out if they are prowling about.
Maybe stay up til 2 or 3 int morning and have a good search for him with a torch? should be pretty active by that time.. keep us updated and good luck x

Thanks for the replies =)
Litterally looked EVERYWHERE my room was moved around completely and everything!! He's just been fed so not sure if he's hungry but going to try and put down a mouse and that =S (great) but will he not just eat the mice in the hole/wall (where ever it goes =S)...
I think I would have a bit more hope if I didn't find that mouse!! And I think the hole leads to the cellar/convertion (my sisters room) I hope she dosn't find him!! Also the hole where the mouse went has been seald so I don't know how he will get back out if that's where he is!!
He could be anywhere!! I think he will literally just be a house snake and going to get real fat 0_0
Just hate waiting and not knowing!!
Thanks again fingers crossed!! |

you'd be surprised at how close they can be- when our hatchy got out she didn't travel more than about a metre and a half, then curled up in the first comfy place...
you'd also be surprised at how small a space they can squeeze into. start at the viv and work outwards, and look inside EVERYTHING, especially the things that look too small for her to get into...
good luck x |
and you thought there was no such thing as a stupid question....

1.2.0 corns: captain haddock, sharon the tiddler and Darling Debbie. plus 0.2.0 cali kings: spot and Numpty... not forgetting the delightful Miss Lovely-Gonzalez-La-Poop apricot pueblan milk snake, and we all miss the Lodger who thought he was a cobra....

Going to sound daft but if it fed it wont have gone far, check the tank again, I had my hatchie go missing and found him in a crack in a piece of wood in the vivarium. lol. They can hide in such a small place, do you know how it got out? |

The faunarium was up kinda high so he must have gone down and the hole wasnt far so easy enough to get to..
Have no idea how it got out been there for 2/3 weeks with out escaping, the only thing I can think of is it had quite big holes at the top that I thought we blocked off but dosnt look like we did them small enough =s...
Looked im and around EVERYTHING in the smallest places and everywhere... The only place we couldn't look was in the wall...
I dont know how people just wait, it's been one day and I want him back!!
Thanks for all the help =) |

If he's just been fed he'll need to go somewhere warm to digest, and also will not be abe to squeeze through quite as small holes as usual so check around plugs/airing cupboards etc. Good luck :( |

I'd let your sister know.. if you're worried she will kill him if she finds him! Let her know, that way she wont trip out and do something irrational.
I couldnt forigve any of my family if they killed my snake :/ |

Been trying everything to try and get polo back since he's been missing
And almost had him back but no, was so close but yet so far!!!!
My mum was talking to our neighbor who's moving out Monday and she asked if we had lost a snake as there was one in her cellar!!!
My mum called me and said he's next door, so I went next door and he had gone, there was a whole right at the bottom of the stairs where she had seen him curled up=(...
The lady had managed to take a picture and it was definatly polo, she said she will he if if she see's it again as she was about confused about the whole thing before =s... Give her credit, wasnt scared or anything =)...
Getting some more mice now and the lady won't be around until Monday so have no idea what we can do to get him, hopefully she will leave the back door open and we can try and get him before she leaves on Monday =s
Can't believe we was that close to getting him back, sooooo frustrating... And have no idea how he got in her cellar from 3 floors up in the other side of the house!!
Theres alot of mice around too, looked like a proper mouse hole where I think he went, hope he won't go off his pinkies if we do get him back =s
Have no idea what to do from here =s =(
Thanks for reading anyways, hopefully he will come again and the lady can get him =s |

Well I had practically give up hope finding him until yesterday!! So im glad we have a new lead on finding him!!
The lady came back this morning and let us put a mouse in there in a bottle so hopefully he will settle in there!! The estate agent now now's (scared of snakes =s) but he said he will let us know when he comes back later so we can check...
And the lady is bringing her back door key round tomorrow so we still have access to the house so will do some undercover searching and hopefully find him before someone else moves in!!
Want my snakey!!
Thanks for reading and the positive comments =)
Fingers crossed still!! |
