For a few weeks now i have noticed that simon has a white patch of scales on his back and i thought when he sheds it will go but he shed and its still there maybe even brighter than before heres a pic. please advice

That pic makes it look like a scar but its not its flat and not bumpy at all it just looks like thr colour disappeared

Marc, what do the scales themselves look like? Are any peeling, winkled? It's just I've read about a gene, which causes the snake to loose pigment in random patches, as it ages ( it was Bill and Katy Love book, again ). There was a time delay with the gene, so it didn't show for the first year or two. Unfortunately,the scales on the white bits were distorted.... then I read somewhere else that snakes can sometimes develop a random white patches, but usually when they get older.
Are you sure it can't be due to the snake damaging himself?
Anyway, hopefully someone experienced will know more.
They not flakey or anything. The scales themselves are perfectly normall. Just the colour has disappeared
