I've got a medium exo terra heat mat and a medium size hide ( half on mat half off, bowl of water at other end and my substrate is aspen bedding.

As I put on your other post when I got mine even with a stat connected it steamed up but went in about 24 hours. A stat is a must as said so if you haven't got one yet get on tinternet and get one ordered 
Edit, just seen your other post and you have ordered a stat |
