hello everyone. i decided today that i was going to make one of my snakes happy by making them a new hide.
i was talking to my brother about ideas as i wanted something a little different and we came to the conclusion of making a turtle snake hide where it is a dome shape with 4 legs and a tail but when the snake peeks out its the head... so the whole funny thing was to turn my snakes into a turtle... yes, random but i thought it could be quite funny. . .
. . . anyway it is currently baking in the oven for about 3 hours at low heat to dry it out but here are some pictures of what it looked like before i cooked it:

Been thinking of doing something similar for mine but not sure what I'd do as I like to get creative like you XD I tend to not like the simple dome hides, they have to look awesome lol
Corn Snakes. 1.0 Butter - Cereus. 1.0 Caramel Stripe het Amel - Vladimir. 0.1 Normal het Amel, Caramel, Hypo - Amara. 0.1 Masque het Amel, Anery, Charcoal, Diffused, Hypo, Lavender, Stripe - Aurelia. 1.0 Masque Anery het Amel, Charcoal, Diffused, Hypo, lavender, Stripe - Orion. Leopard Gecko's. Too many to list!! Rat Snake. 1.0 Yellow Rat Snake - Leviathan(Levi) Western Hognoses 1.0 Normal 50% poss het Frosted(Dutch Hypo, Caramel) - Thorne. 0.1 Frosted - Rose. 1.0 Anaconda het Snow(Amel, Anery) - Titan. 0.1 Normal het Snow(Amel, Anery) - Nyx. hehe and yeah i like being unique when it comes to making hides and stuff lol and that way it makes my vivariums look awesome and different too xD

2 mugs full of flour 1 mug of salt 1 mug of water ( add slowly until it forms a dough) some oil
a oven proof dish rolling pin
1) put the salt and flour together and slowly add water to form a dough that isnt too damp and picks up all of the salt and flour. 2) place some flour down on surface and rolling pin and roll it out (about a cm thick) until it can cover the bowl. 3) oil the bowl so dough doesn't stick during cooking process. 4) cut the excess dough and a hole for the snake to enter/exit 5) if your doing a turtle add on extras. 6) bake in oven on gas mark 3 for about 3 hours but keep checking on it.. when done it is a golden brown like in the pictures i just posted :) and should be dry 7) leave to cool and remove the hide from off the bowl. 8) use yacht varnish and waterproof your hide and paint (i think it is yacht varnish that is safe, if someone could correct me if im wrong) 9) paint if you wish
enjoy your hide and watch your snakey enjoy his/her hide too hope this helps

Then you could paint the feet and tail brown or green so that it is tortoise coloured. or a similar colour as your snake so that when she sticks her head out it looks like it's part of it?
Looking forward to seeing what it'll be like when you're done. I bet it's gonna be great!
He he I am probably going to make my hatchlings one each too but might think of other things to do other than a turtle lol but can't think o much at the moment lol xD but will have to find smaller bowls as the one I just made was with a 3ltr bowl lol

Awesome thanks for the cartoon picture the ones I looked at weren't as good as the one ones in the link :)bill get it varnished and that tomorrow and start painting.. I just hope my painting skills haven't gotten bad lol :)
