Picked up this lovely docile girl on Sunday. She's named Marjorie after my gran :-D
In the naughty corner:

Just before the 'Oh poo, how do I get her off me?' moment lol

Now, are you prepared for Aragog. **Fantabulous drumroll**
Tada!!
(Have you found him yet lol! Closer pic
Size comparison next to my little finger:
Looks like he'll be getting a visit from the Kraken. He has the black spot!!

Very tiny! I was worried he wouldn't feed. But he's been happily sucking away on a cut up roach nymph lol |

Ha ha, genuine LOL at Aragog! And yes I found him - but son and hubby needed the close up! Funnily enough I was just wondering this morning what baby spiders would eat in the wild...

I'm not usually fond of tarantulas but I actually like how hairy Marjorie is, It makes them less creepy for me for some reason And aragog is soooo tiny and kind of sweet! |

Totally just worked up the courage to click this after reading the name "Aragog" and knowing exactly what to expect
He's actually pretty cute - in a 'as long as its only behind the screen' kind of way... Marjorie is just huuuuge! And fluffy
What flavours are they? |

Eeeeek! Tarantula on your back, I think I would die
Scottishbluebird - I still have the Chilean rose Ruby and she's still a psychopath lol! She has stopped pouncing on her water bowl so no tug o war video I'm sorry. However I did test her temperament out the other day by touching a back leg with a paintbrush and BAM, she spun round and did her super duper ninja moves on it!! Nutter..
Aragog (yep, the names from Harry Potter) is the same type of spider as Ruby, a g.rosea (once classed as red phase Chilean rose) and Marjorie is a g.porteri (once classed as normal phase Chilean rose). |

Love the picture of aragog! Will he get as big as Marjorie? Also how do you decide that you are going to get a let tarantula?! I have a fear of spiders but would like to overcome it but have you always been ok with spiders or did you get over the fear by getting them as pets? |

Cheers, he's so cute bless him Yep he'll get as big as Marjorie. You're going to laugh now, I've always been scared of spiders....and still am! I held a tarantula about 4/5 years ago (cried afterwards haha),after that I thought about getting one to try and combat my fear. It took another 3 odd years for me to take the plunge after I threw a wobbler over a house spider at someones house and scared my kids in the process, what made it worse was I threw a second wobbler over a dead one 5 minutes later So I decided enough was enough and got Ruby last year. Unfortunately she's not the friendliest of tarantulas but I am slowly getting better. At one point even pictures of them scared me! Aragog would have scared me a year ago, but I now think he's cute
Scottishbluebird - I know exactly what you mean. He looks so delicate, just hope I don't kill him. They grow faster as spiderlings but it takes years for them to get to adult size, so he'll be a titch for a fair while really |

Well mort13 I take my hat off to you, to manage to overcome your fears enough to own tarantulas (especially when you previously couldn't even look at a picture of them) is something I have wanted to do myself for a long time now but still can't even bring myself to pick up a small house spider! Hopefully in time I will find the courage and at least handle a tarantula. |

House spiders are the bane of my life, I HATE HATE HATE the damn things Although in my strange mind a large hairy tarantula is just about ok, any other spider from 7mm upwards is a threat to my life lol Hopefully little Aragog will help me deal with that side of things |
