Such sad news about the reptile house at the zoo in Scotland.
I can't begin to imagine how devastated the owners, staff and volunteers feel.
R.I.P all those lost.
Fingers crossed for the few rescued reptiles. I hope they make a full recovery from the effects of the fire.

How heartbreaking is that I've just listened to the news report and apparently it's a privately owned zoo and all the animals where rescues I could just sit and cry :o(

Very sad. I was just reading about it... It reminds me of the pro exotics fire in 2011.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-22141494

I am sure that the zoo was as safe as it could be and the chance of a fire was mitigated against but it goes to show that the danger of a fire is always there.

Even with just a few reptiles in the reptile room at home I worry about what would hapen if a mat sparked. I feel so sorry for everyone at the zoo.

Such a shame, hope they find out what caused it so it doesn't happen again... I imagine it will be a dodgy heat source, not enough money in many zoos for stuff like stats. According to their FB page 2 meerkats survived in addition to the caiman and otter.
