My snakey number 3, and first re home, is here and settled. He's the same age as Little T - 2 years old - but is only just 3 ft and 165 g ( ! ) - Little T looks like a giant next to him at 4 foot and 400g! Managed to take some pics of him before transferring him ti his viv. Meet Sebastian :-)

Belly pic:

And one through the side of RUB waiting for his viv to be set up, having a little drink in the meantime:

P.s. sorry, would have probably been better in photos section... |

Thanks guys :-) He's a friendly chap, out all the time, when anyone's near, he's straight at the glass. Not sure if he's a hypo, he's quite dark orange, but has almost no black on him. No black borders, and mostly orange belly chequers. His mum was the same, but lighter, his dad was a snow, so he's het amel and anery. His parents were handed to a pet shop where he comes from, so don't know if there're any other hets.
I'm unsure what to do re feeding him. He seems very keen, and in a hunting mode, homes on everything that moves, and I know he definitely hasn't eaten since last monday. He could do with putting on a bit more weight, ( though he's not skinny, just light ), but then we're having a building work done, so the next 3 weeks are going to be a nightmare, lots of banging, etc. Do I risk it and feed him ( he seems to be quite a confident chap, certainly not a bag of nerves like Baz, who is sulking in her hide because her viv was moved :-) ), or do I wait? Normally, I'd wait, but he just seems so keen, and my gut feeling says "feed him".

Perhaps give him something small that he'll digest faster? He is gorgeous ^_^ |

He looks lovely. I'd just feed him I think. Most of my snakes have eaten 3/4 days after coming home with no problems. |

I'd say go ahead and give him a feed. Lovely snake and it's nice to see that you have helped him. |

I think I'll have a go tonight, when it's quieter, and offer him a small to start with, just in case. Then he can get a medium next time - they look quite big next to him. I bought both sizes,as wasn't sure :-)
Welshlamb, I hope I helped the owners as well :-) |

Lovely fella, my rescue corn was the same and I said he looks half starved so started him off with a fuzzy then 6 days later tried him with 2 and just worked on gradually feeding him up but he still seems to be in that hunting mode a lot of the time but he is very calm when I pick him up. Hope everything goes ok. |

No way he's not a hypo with belly chequers like that - nowhere near enough black on him for a Carolina ;)
I'd feed him as well - good luck :) |

Well, he's got one big fat tummy now :-)
Smart bunny - it's a bit of a strange one - he's got hardly any black on him, but he's actually quite dark ( not due a shed, as there was one in the viv, when I picked him up ), and hypos tend to be bright. He was quite dark as a hatchling, too, but his mum was very bright, so could be a het hypo? |

Update - Seb's fat tummy was gone and he was roaming again in less than 24hours! I was sooo tempted to let him come out... But managed to resist, somehow
Day after, and he was back in his hide, not coming out, blue as can be! It's all happening to him
On the plus side, that will help me stick to the settling in period, as I don't handle them in blue. On the down side - Bazilishka's blue as well, she started 2 days before Sebbie, so that only leaves Little T to handle - and he's just eaten... Where's the "rent a snake for a handling session" service we were once talking about?
