Ok well I got my rub and a thermometer for the cold end need a digi one for warm end so now stats which one? Dimmer or pulse ive not read great things about the on/off so between those two Im not worried about cost I want the most effective one im not sure though thanks in advance x |

I'm assuming you are using a heat mat rather than a light for heat so in that case pulse - don't think you can use dimmers on a mat but am not certain on that point - but they are intended for incandescent bulbs. |

I'd go with a pulse, if you're using a heatmat. My pulse ones have been very good. |

Ok a bit more research by me would of saved this post dimmers need a minimum amount of watts so heatmat will be no good thanks anyway x :-) |

Not sure if my last post made sense hehe in a nut shell I'll be getting pulse as mats don't have enough watts for use with a dimmer ( hope your with me) :-P |

It's nice to see you're putting so much thought and preparation into it, before you get a snake. Hope it doesn't sound patronizing, it's just there are so many people who just get a snake, and don't do any research at all... and don't care, either. |

No not patronizing I started out clueless to be honest and I spent loads of time researching I want snakey to be happy and healthy :-) problem is the more I research the more I want one am getting impatient :-) |

mat stats are cheap often 10-20 quid cheaper than a pulse. they do the job just fine of set up right, yes you will get a few degrees variation in the temp due to how they work though.
pulse stats are more expensive but will hold ya warm end temp to within .5 of a degree
depends how much you want to spend in reality |

Yeah seen them ive seen a habistat pulse stat for 36-37 quid so its not too bad thanks though:-) |
