Here's a few snaps of the first month of having little Vivec. He's had his first shed, and I'm going to weigh him when my friend is down at the end of the month. His colours are already starting to change, he's getting more yellow down his sides.

Bonus shot of my beardie as she has been very patient, sitting on my lap while I fumble through uploading pictures.

He's lovely . It's great seeing the way their colours develop and change at the grow.

(I'll pretend I haven't noticed the non-corn you've sneaked in )

Dany is a very elusive and rare corn morph ;)

Speaking of weighing, does anyone have any advice on how often they should be weighed and what a good weight gain over time is? Vivec's six months old and wants feeding fairly often, but I'm also aware I can't feed him too much or he will become a sausage with a tongue.

I swear he is also growing into his eyes. He looked like a string with googly eyes attached when I first got him, but now he's looking more snake-ish.

Gorgeous little chap, amel stripe is one of my favourite morphs :-)

You can weigh him whenever, but to get the real weight, he should be empty, I.e. After he's pooped. Best time is after each shed, then you can see how much he's put on since the last shed.

I'm like Charles, I weigh mine before each feed. Probably more often than necessary but I'd forget otherwise.

That's so odd- I too have a little Amel stripe, and I very nearly named him Vivec! He's even got a similar head pattern!

Great minds, and all that...

Your little guy is beautiful! A lovely example of a very pretty morph!

He's gorgeous. That yellow will increase with each shed. I think it's awesome to watch them grow and change.
I too keep the bearded corn breed as you can see from my signature. Another delightful breed.....

You have good taste, Misguidance ;)

Vivec's getting big. The scales settled on 20g when this photo was taken, he was 26g at the latest weighing. I'm hoping he'll shed again soon.

Also managed to get a picture of him eating. I've stopped feeding him in his tank now when possible, and I want to get a feeding video of him.
