O.k. Here goes. I've just woken up and jumped out of bed having had a eureka moment. If, and it is a very large if, I can get fibreglass vivs manufactured and realistically price them so as to make it worth my while would any of you lot be interested in buying them. I'm initially looking at 3'x2'x2' and 4'x2'x2' to start with and expanding to other sizes if it proves viable. Just to clarify. I am sounding the idea out and not taking orders just yet. Cheers . |

If you could come up with a starting price it might help sway a few but I would be interested if the price was right. |

Easy to clean , dont rot over time like wood can , can't harbour mites in cracks etc . Usually so solidly built you can stack and stack and stack large vivs without the glass doors in the bottom viv becoming stiff .
And did I mention , sooo easy to clean :) Amongst other things . |

I take it you mean ones like these? http://www.greentreepythons.co.uk/Caging.htm
I dont really like them them personaly. The runners come out, the doors wobble about if nothing heavy is stacked on it, they warp if you put a heatmat underneath and they come with strange tiny useless vents. I would say you cant use heat bulbs with them, but im not sure thats the case. Eaither way I wouldnt.
But yes, they are very easy to clean. I hope you make them better than the ones we have now |

I would suggest that they have been badly constructed. The company that I will be approaching to manufacture the vivs have been in the trade for eons and manufacture almost anything from ocean going yachts to water slides. All of their items are constructed using different grades of fibreglass matting and is laid properly rather than some monkey spraying a mould with a chopped strand/resin mix. They will be built by craftsmen and will not suffer from any of the problems you mention. If I cannot guarantee the quality of the product then I won't sell it. Simples |

hee hee. I'm gonna edit it back again so that Kaz kingers you .
With the vivs, what I'll probably do is keep the first few myself and put them though hell to see what happens. That way I know that the product will last. Lasting product = happy customers = more business = more money = more reps for me = hooray |

I would be! But obviously price would be a big factor in it. I have one like in Mattys link and I love the look of it, and it works pretty well! Dead easy to clean |

Monitors, Iggys and Tegs probably yes but smaller lizards shouldn't be an issue. |

The ones in your link are plastic and I would expect those to differ from well made fibre glass vivs , which are very sturdy .
Fibre glass can also take extremes of heat with the resin that is used , so you would get no warping at all . |

Sorry guys. I'm afraid the project is a no go . Been talking to my old employers and for them to build to a standard that I would be willing to sell, i.e. indestructable, would mean that any customers would be charged a fortune.
Oh well. Back to the drawing board |
