how much do you guys normally put in your viv? i think ive got like an inch and a half, seems a bit deep and mr snakey burrows, not too keen when he does that i always think wer the hell has he gone lol x

I usually put about 3/4" covering the floor, Using a heat lamp

I dont use much over the hat mat, but an inch everywhere else. I wouldnt discourage burrowing, its natural.

Agreed with matty. I use a sprinkling in the warm end and used to throw loads in the cool end. he burrowed like a mole.

But i moved to using chippings.

like people have said above, not too much over the heatmat.........or the aspen will insulate the heat away from your snake and you'll struggle to get your temps up to normal

I use about 3 inch, they love to burrow and I love seeing the tunnels they create through the aspen.

I have heatmat plus a heat lamp in the top of the viv on a stat so that it comes on when needed.
