hi i am thinking about building vivs and wanted to see if enyone would be willing to buy any before i go buying all the bits to make a load of them first.
i can build any sice vivs so far i have built a 2ft viv and a 36" by 18" by 18" witch i have just sold here are some pics of that viv.
this is a very nice size viv.
i can do them in black white beach and oak..
please let me know if you dont mine what sort of price you would pay for a viv of this size..

How much would it cost for 2 vivs both the same 36" long x 24" wide x 18" hight and can you deliver also both viv will need 3 vents in each , and would like both in white. |

your looking at about £75 to £80 each plus what ever it would cost for them to be dropped off. do you drive?? cause i could meet you 1/2 way or something. plus i would need a 50% depostit before enywork has been started on the vivs..

Can we settle at £70 each for vivs , I could make one but to be honest i don't have the time to make one im too busy only recently just being engaged and stuff so you know lol , I dont drive now i got banned for 12months . Where abouts are you from ? And can you post a pic of the white wood would like to see what it looks like and also is the back bord a thick wood or thin ? And will it be sealed after building it ? |

hi it would have to be £75 and if you wanted a solid back then your looking at £80. i am close to croydon surrey and yes it will be fully sealed when built. i dont have a pic of the wood at the moment as i dont have any here with me. its just a plain white 15mm board.. it would be the same as if you was to buy it in the shops. i think that is a good price for a viv that size...

Its ok me and my father inlaw will be building the 4 vivs in summer time as your asking for £80 x 4 = To much + your too far away. Thanks anyways though. |

You can delete your own topics yourself. Of course you would be wanting some sort of profit for making the vivs but you could make a deal with a shop and probably get them for cheaper. |

I can remove this thread if you so wish, although by this response it could possibly have cost you potential customers.
75-80 squids isn't a bad price, no. But the delivery is what would be the killing part of it it things like this always are, especially if you're one of the small guys making them to order.
That's the only reason I haven't gone into mice/rats like others have partially done on this board.
If I ordered mice/rats in massive numbers (which I've considered) then they are so low in price it's incredible and I could still ssell them out at about 50% of the shop prices but it's the postage that would cause the biggest issue.
Don't give up purely because one person considered it, then thanked you for your input, help and prompt responses. That part of the customer service is IMO a huge part of any business.
I'm assuming you've got signs/adverts in your local rag?
Like was said above, the vivs are fair priced for the work you'd have to put in, but the delivery would be the crippling factor.
I've seen vivs at 4x2x2ft for as low as 60 quid, with 20 quid delivery, because factories are banging hundreds of these things out at a rate of knots they can afford to have rock bottom prices.
Please consider these things before you respond in a way that I would deem quite harsh to someone that could've been a potential customer. |

Don't let a costomer's opinion stop you Bilbo. He was just bargaining for it. I am sure you'll find people willing to pay what you ask for. I can't because i live in Greece, but the price you are asking seems logical.

I agree Bilbo don't stop due to i thought it was expensive but the fact is its not about the price on the vivs its the postage costs that would worry me as i needed 4vivs then a further 2 more so we are talking alot of money , If i can arrange for a friend to hire out a transit van then i will be happy to make a deal with you for 6 vivs. But until then i don't know yet.  |
