it could also be flash as it happens with my normal. The amel goes white or orange when flashed =) |

viv looks great
sorry to rain on your parade but what substrate are you using? in the pics it looks like ordinary pet shop wood shavings, which nearly always contain pine which can be lethal for our scaly friends |

Pine oils are toxic to snakes. I'm not entirely sure if that means shavings would contain the oils or not - after all orchid bark is actually made from dried pine chips! HOWEVER I do know everyone says not to use shavings so to be on the safe side I personally would advise you only use a proper snake substrate such as aspen, beech chips, lignocel (I use lignocel), megazorb, repticard - there are loads of safe ones out there.
I would be willing to bet his previous owner used shavings because they didn't bother to look into things, not because they weighed up the pros and cons and decided it was safe...

| Lignocel comes in a HUGE bag which will last you ages provided you have a garage or something to store it in lol. I think I got mine from here: http://www.wildworldreptileshop.co.uk/lignocel-12-5kg/ , it was a while ago lol. Will need to get some more soon. |
