Hey guys, new to the forum after getting my first corn snake...
Been waiting to put up a new corn snake post and now its a lost corn snake post

It was actually my sisters bf's snake as he has the snakes but we got a corn snake (around 2-3 weeks ago)which was helping me get over my fear of snake's .. Sooo we had everything set up, he wasnt that big only a big baby, was eating fine and had his first shed, was all good...

I wouldn't hold him but I ended up holding a much bigger corn snake somewhere else and was ready to hold our one and get over my fear of snakes... He was living in my room as iv got the better temperatures but now when im officially ready to hold him he's escaped!!

We tipped my room upside down to look for him and had no luck what's so ever BUUUTTTT found the most unexpecting thing ever!!! I have 7 cats in and out of my room on a daily basis and what did we find a LIVE MOUSE!!! Never seen one in or around the house in like 10 years!!

There was a hole where they can get in and out into the walls or something, im at the top of the house so have no idea where they've come from but the paper I used to block the hoel from spiders has been chewed quite a lot =S

Looks like Polo (the snake) has all he needs and found his own home On the plus side I think he will get rid of the mice problem... On the down side I don't think il see him again and if my other sister who dosn't know about mr snakey finds him will kill him and me!!

Can't believe I didn't even get to hold him going to miss little Polo

Seen a lot of posts about lost snakes so will try and use them methods to find him...

Just not happy

Thanks for the long read and wish me luck =)

I just had a thought, he should be fine after he's been roaming around houses for thr last few months!!

Thanks for the reply anyways il get him changed over asap
Dancross0 Posted - 20/11/2012 : 17:03:35
A 3ft rub/viv should be fine. I moved my CB11's into 3ft vivs in feb, just give him plenty of cover so he doesn't get stressed with the new space.

The faun/tape is only temporary and it's on the outside so he's free shouldn't cause any problems... The lid felt loose when I was feeling around it so think that might of been how... Il be moving him out of the faun soon as he's just out growing it so hopefully it will do for now =s...

My neighbors are amazing almost gave the guy a heart attack and he still caught him and him and his wife are being so sweet about it (even if they are telling the other neighbors and im now snake lady -.-)

He's now been renamed Dini after Houdini =p but he is NOT escaping anymore!!

What viv would be a good size to move him into?? I have a 3ft rub but im thin thinking thats too big??

Glad to hear you've got him back, but I've got to agree with Thorne, I don't like to hear the word "tape".. It's really dangerous for corns, especially little ones. I'd rather you invested in a better Faun/RUB/Viv or something else, but don't just use tape. If you don't know how he escaped from the Faun then don't resort to taping the thing down. I don't think he would have lifted the lid, more likely he opened the window in it or got through the mesh (depending on which Faun you're using).

Yaay! Hopefully your modifications do the job... although the word 'tape' makes me nervous...

Stick a cat bell on his tail lol.You are so very lucky to keep finding him, But do you know how he keeps getting out yet?
Major well done to the neighbours!! They deserve a big box of chocs!

FOUND HIM (AGAIN)!!!

Was at my sisters decorating got had a call saying that a snake had been found in my neighbours kitchen and they had caught him!! Now he's back home and I have used so much tape and just gone overboard with escape proofing everything!!

I cant believe he's actually back AGAIN seriously amazing luck!!

Came home and had another look, still no sign , my cupboard/wardrobe door was open and there's a gap in there that may lead to cellar again

This is such horrible deja vu!!!
scottishbluebird Posted - 10/11/2012 : 22:59:40
oh no i hope its a fast find this time xxx

I had a double escapee too. Try and stay calm and just start going over things calmly.

I found mine in the same area both times, near the water heater. The second time literally curled around the top of it.

Really hoping you find your little escape artist soon.

I really dont understand, im dogsitting atm so away for the weekend and can't look but my sister and my mum are going to bomb my bedroom and hopefully find him!!

Apparently the lid was locked so it was virtually impossible for him to get out!!! The hole to the cellar where he went last time has been filled so hopefully he hasn't found another way out!!!

I actually can't believe he has been able to do this again, I feel so bad I swear the faun was escape proof!!!

GUTTED!!!!

Oh that's so unlucky, he must be very determined Hopefully he'll be curled up in your room somewhere, at least he can't get into the cellar this time. Hope you find him quickly this time.

I can imagine! I wouldn't know what to do if I lost my little Ghost! Congratulations, I hope he feeds okay!
Hayls Posted - 09/11/2012 : 16:56:07
I thought that might confuse everyone , it's great having him back and not worrying where he could be and if he's ok!! And I really thought he was going to be all bitey but he's really calm

Going to give him his first feed since he's been back tomorrow so hopefully he will eat that

I wasn't paying attention at first and I thought the second pic was him as a baby. I thought I know they change as they grow but where did his stripes go? Duh! Off to hang my head in shame now.

I thought this too!

I'm so pleased you found him though, you must be so happy! :D
