Posted - 28/05/2012 : 19:59:28 Cats have a certain bacteria in their saliva which gets into bites, it is 100% fatal with birds unless treated no idea about reptiles though.
I hope he pulls through though!

Posted - 28/05/2012 : 12:04:09 If you are unable to afford or provide appropriate care for the snake, why not contact the ASPCA or any other animal rescue organizations in your State area and see if they can help. A local pet shop might be able to help if you explain the circumstances.
From your description it sounds like the snake needs specialist attention. |

Posted - 28/05/2012 : 11:01:37 Hi there.
Firstly, if you can't afford vets fees yourself then maybe see if you can find someone who can, or see if your vet will arrange a payment plan to help with the cost.
In the meantime, he needs to be kept quiet, in a dark, secure container. Offer water with Powerade in it, or a product called Reptoboost if you can find it. Tamodine is good for wounds, as is Manuka honey.
Don't offer food, and try to disturb it as little as possible. |
