Posted - 26/09/2012 : 20:40:16 Marc, what do the scales themselves look like? Are any peeling, winkled? It's just I've read about a gene, which causes the snake to loose pigment in random patches, as it ages ( it was Bill and Katy Love book, again ). There was a time delay with the gene, so it didn't show for the first year or two. Unfortunately, the scales on the white bits were distorted.... then I read somewhere else that snakes can sometimes develop a random white patches, but usually when they get older.
Are you sure it can't be due to the snake damaging himself?
Anyway, hopefully someone experienced will know more.
