Posted - 11/08/2011 : 11:02:35 If your putting hatchies in there you may want to wedge something inbetween the glass doors, they can squash their heads and fit though many gaps! Sweet little platforms though.
Bites do not hurt, even with full grown corns. I hamster bite or a cat attack hurts more. |

pretty much this if you are 'scared' get some thin wool gloves......or just do the right thing and pick it up and dont screw around with it also i would get a guard on that |

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 19:08:22 I would just go for it if he knows you are scared and will just leave him when hes like that... then he will act like that constantly xx |

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 18:32:26 Says him that said he was scared of snakes striking and biting lol
If he does the pose just take him out as normal. As Aegis said, if you leave him alone when he does it then he will know that he can scare you off and will do it even more. I'm sure he will soon settle down |

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 17:30:47 The S shape is a pretty standard snake strike pose. It means he is preparing himself to strike. To him you are a nasty big predator that is coming to get him. Part of that behaviour is just him being a hatchy and learning to accept humans. You can help him by making him feel as secure as possible |

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 17:26:45 rite, do you think thats maybe why he goes into a s shape when i go to take him out?? |

Hatchlings can get stressed if there is too much open space. They will choose security over heat regulation which means that they may end up too cold or too warm by staying in hides instead of venturing out. By providing more cover either with tubes to go through or fake plants, you are giving your hatchy more security so he has more confidence to come out. |

i think the unguarded bulb is basically a ticking timebomb till your snake gets burned, is a potential fire hazard, and clearly shows your inexperience....... |

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 08:54:36 Very nice! As mentioned above guards are essential to insure theres no burns from the bulbs. And again toilet roll tubes are great.. my snakes cant get enough of them! xx |
