Nicely decorated. I like the coconut shell.
You need to get a guard on those bulbs asap tho. Corns can and will wrap themselves around the bulb causing very nasty burns. Even if you don't use the bulb often it still needs a guard as they can crush the bulb. Be careful which one you get for the hatchy as it could probably get into most that are on the market and I think there was someone on here who once woke up to find their snake dead inside the bulb guard.
You might also want to put in some more places for the hatchy to hide. Just throw some more toilet roll tubes in there or some more plants. Hatchys can get stressed if they feel to exposed but if you give it enough cover it should be fine

Very nice! As mentioned above guards are essential to insure theres no burns from the bulbs. And again toilet roll tubes are great.. my snakes cant get enough of them! xx

i think the unguarded bulb is basically a ticking timebomb till your snake gets burned, is a potential fire hazard, and clearly shows your inexperience.......

Hatchlings can get stressed if there is too much open space. They will choose security over heat regulation which means that they may end up too cold or too warm by staying in hides instead of venturing out. By providing more cover either with tubes to go through or fake plants, you are giving your hatchy more security so he has more confidence to come out.

The S shape is a pretty standard snake strike pose. It means he is preparing himself to strike. To him you are a nasty big predator that is coming to get him. Part of that behaviour is just him being a hatchy and learning to accept humans. You can help him by making him feel as secure as possible

Personally (im no expert compared to them) I would still take out (unless in shed)

Basically if it was me, and Karuza done that and i just left her, she would realise that everytime she went into that pose and i left her, she would do it all the time. Its just a defence thing (as far as i know)

And from what iv heard, corn snake bites dont hurt :/ Yet to experience but hope i dont lol.

Says him that said he was scared of snakes striking and biting lol

If he does the pose just take him out as normal. As Aegis said, if you leave him alone when he does it then he will know that he can scare you off and will do it even more. I'm sure he will soon settle down

pretty much this if you are 'scared' get some thin wool gloves......or just do the right thing and pick it up and dont screw around with it also i would get a guard on that

my aunties, bestfriends, hairdressers, friends boyfriend had a snake and it stretched out to measure him to eat him......true story.....

If your putting hatchies in there you may want to wedge something inbetween the glass doors, they can squash their heads and fit though many gaps! Sweet little platforms though.

Bites do not hurt, even with full grown corns. I hamster bite or a cat attack hurts more.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3
