Hi guys,

I am new to the snake world! i have a beautiful corn snake that hatched on 8th July 2009, and I bought her from someone who had lots of them and knew she would go to a good home!

I have had her a week now, and we have bonded well and she spends more time out with me than in her viv her eyes have got a bluey tinge now and i wondered if that means she will shed soon? her scales look a bit flakey too, I just want to make sure it is the shedding process before i cart her down the vets and get something for scale rot when its not (which i dont think it is)!!! just want some reassurance please?

Thankyou

Welcome to the forums! Shedding is an exciting process! Mine went blue on Fri/Sat and still not shed! Oh and i fed her on saturday and i got a poo last night. Just after i cleaned and sorted her viv (typical way of saying thanks i guess)

she will go to the loo pretty much any day now. Depending on how far along the shedding process she is she may not go untill she sheds.

This is pretty much "that time of the month" for her (though it won't be monthly)...so don't be shocked if she is grumpier than usual either ;-)

thankyou, that is good to know

i fed her on sunday morning, do you know when she will go to the loo? i keep looking for it but no sign yet, i have read that if they shed they mite poo when they have shed, is this true?
