Hey all, I've just got my corn back after 6 whole months. Took her on for a breeder that couldn't sell all the hatchlings in December 2007. She's a great feeder/shedder and escape artist. She went awol for 10 days last summer (had the lid clamped down so think someone must have opened the hatch on the lid and not shut it properly. Found her in the top drawer of the sideboard!

Then, at the beginning of October last year, she was gone again. I thin this time she managed to push the plastic out enough where the heat sensor came in and she was gone. Luckily we kept the viv (just in case she had hibernated) and lucky thing. Two weeks ago, doorbell rang at 11.30 (live in a row of cottages out in the sticks, so quite unusual)and it was my neighbour. She had my corn in her pillow case after finding her on her bedroom floor!!!

I seem to have one talented snake, so have made an escape proof lid now...lol. Good job she was found by this particular neighbour as she loves snakes and knew it was Carla Straight away.

So, here's a pic from last week. She's eaten well twice and just shed last night, so doing well. Only one question though. The shed skin is missing a tiny bit from the end of the tail. I will bathe her and take it off, but can this wait until this evening or is it best to do it now? Took this the night she came back while Dan (other half) was getting the viv set up again, you can tell she was about to shed!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Great looking snake you have there, little adventurer by the sounds of it too.

I would bathe her straight away if you can, but waiting until this evening should be ok too.
