Hello all

My wife called me at work on Wednesday afternoon, out of the blue, to tell me she had fallen in love with a 'Christmas' Corn Snake.

Thursday morning we brought home Mo (named after, ahem, Mo Doodle; if that means anything to you!)

I'm normally one to do my research before diving in on this kind of thing, but really only know what the guy in the shop told us. As such, thought I'd look for a supportive looking net community somewhere as I'm sure I'll need some advice before too long!

Anyway: Hi!

Jon

When I said "before too long"...

Since we got him home, Mo went straight into hiding in his little snake cave. Two days later and we haven't seen him come out at all.

It's one of those funky magnetic jobbies where half of it sticks on the outside of the glass, so we've been able to check that he *seems* OK.

Would you think this is normal? Just settling in?

Thanks x

Hi Jon, Welcome to the site.

We're a friendly lot who'll always do our best to help - As for Mo hiding away it's totally normal, little snakey has had a stressfull few days. Best advice is to give him a week to settle in do nothing at all except change his water, hard i know but it really will help him settle.

Oh and we love pics, theres a blonde proof how to guide in the photo section if you want to put some photos of Mo up.

leave him a week to settle in, just change his water daily so he gets used to your smell and realises that you're not a threat and not about to eat him! then try a feed, leave him for 2 days to digest it then let handling commence! also have a good read of the caresheet on here
