Just saying hi, not got a snake yet but hope to be getting one in the next couple of weeks

Was looking at this complete set up on Ebay, would it be any good?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260389838798

Also any pointers on how to buy a healthy snake from my local pet shop?

Cheers in advance.

hi and welcome,if your planning on getting a young snake this will be way to big,you can keep them in a cheap fuanarium or a rub for their 1st year or so,as for snake health just look for good skin(no dead patches)clear mouth nasal area,no wheezing and check for mites(very very small black dots)If you use reputable rep shop you should be ok anyway.

Hiya, and welcome.

I agree with what lee2308 said, except maybe ask to be there on a feeding time with the snake you want, because then you can SEE that it takes food happily.

As for the viv setup, it would be to big for a young snake, but it's not a bad price for what you get.
