Hi guys. I need advice on feeding Sneaky, I don't know if I'm doing it properly...

I rinse out his snake cave, so there's no moss left in it for him to accidently swallow. I then put the 2 pinkies in it, pick him up and guide him in his cave. He's quite happy to eat one, but then, he gets all stressed out, and starts turning around in his cave and won't touch the other pinky. When I put the cave back in the tank, he just flees and hides under his rock... That's twice he's done that. The first time I fed him, he quite happily ate 2 pinkies and was all nice and relaxed after.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to feed him? Why is he getting so stressed out?

Many thanks for your help.

theres no real need to feed him in his cave. just wiggle the food in front of him and let him roam around for a bit. kind of stimulate their senses for food as opposed to a takeway dinner.if your worried about him swallowing the subtrate or moss just feed him outside his viv and try not to touch his hide.

Ive noticed with mystery that if i touch or move his hides hell avoid them for a day or so as he seems to loose that security with them. eventually hell go back but i figured theres no need to stress him out. feeding the snake outside the viv is also a great way to encourage your snake into being handles a little more as they associate being taken outside their enclosure with rewards of food.
