| my snake used to eat whenever offered she was always a good eater, but now she hasn't eaten in 5 weeks, is this a major prob she lost a bit of weight 2, when offered a mouse she backs down as if shes scared of it, don't know what to do any advice grateful thanx dan |

How old is your snake?
I would not worry as snakes can fast for many weeks with no ill-effect.
You could try putting the snake in a small container with a food item and place it in a quiet place, covered and leave it alone to see if it will eat. Neither of my corns like food waved at them and much prefer to be left to eat alone.
If your snake appears ill in any way or is loosing weight then you may wish to consult a reptile vet for advice, but if it is well and healthy it just needs time. Many snakes go off food at this time of the year. One of my Corns (Jasper) did not eat at all in March, lost no weight but is now eating again with avengeance! |
