hi, we have a 2yr approx corn snake (Abbey) she hasn't eaten for about 6 weeks now. She hadn't done a pooh in ages so i told my husband to put her in the bath cos she always goes in there. She had a build up around her back end, when she was in the bath she struggled to go, lifting her tail but not doing out. After a while she did pooh! Since then she still wont eat, we tried braining a mouse last night, not interested, tried putting her in a box still nothing. We left her all night in her tank but the mouse still there this am. I read other animals can put them off so stopped the cat going near the tank. (before we did the braining etc) she is looking thin now and i worried she will die! When Jim holds a mouse near her she darts away from it as though she scared!! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks dawn |

tends to be males that go off eating at the thought of breeding and females sometimes stop if they are gravid. how long have you had her? have you changed anything recently? what are your temps like and how are you heating the viv? what did she weigh and how much has she lost? what is your set-up like?

Hi, thanks for your comments.I think she is defo female, we got her from my best mate she has a male and female and abbey was a baby. She in a tank with a light and a changeable thermo thning, i dunno how much she weighs but she looks thin when they get a ridge down their backs? We did put some different stuff in the bottom a while ago, like brown soft wood, but she had eaten since then. We tried again on sun and she moves the mouse around just dont eat it. she is really active too and not spending much time in her cave. Its prob knocking 8 weeks since she eaten now dawn |
