I'm getting my first corn snake soon so iv been researching how to look after them in a bunch of different places, but something I'm not completely sure of is wether to give them tap water or bottled water to drink because some people say they need bottled water because there can be chemicals and stuff in tap water, but some people say tap water is still ok so I was just wondering what you all use? Thanks |

I drink tap water when i'm too lazy to get myself a proper drink If its good enough for me its good enough for the snakes!
I've always given all of my pets tap water to drink with no problems at all |

It doesn't!
Thought it was released as gas when boiled, either way Mancunian water is low in chlorine anyway so sure it'll be fine. |

itd have to be some damn hot water to turn metal into gas! id imagine well over 1000*c
it will reduce impurities but if you consider the water these guys would drink in the wild, you should be fine to just give em tap water, thats what i do! (even kentish tap water and you have to chew that to swallow it!) |

bottled water over time isn't good for us as it absorbs the chemicals in the plastic so tap is always better even for us! |

The main problem with tap water is cryptosporidium, which boiling should kill off.
With Shakti, we rinse the bowl out with boiling water, and at the same time, let some more water cool in a cup until its cold enough to put in with her (the water I mean.... never seen a snake use a cup before...) |
