Hi all, I posted in another thread the other week concerning Ezio, the corn snake I found whilst out walking the dog. He is doing well, eating fine, has had 1 complete shed and seems happy and healthy. My only concern is how often should he poo,my wife has cleared 2 lots both within 2 days of food, now however he has had 2 mice in a week and no sign of poo. Any ideas. Thanx,Barry

Hi Mine usually poop about 2 days after a feed and then for two or three days in a row - proper poop machines |

Kelloggs has only ever pooped when he's out of his viv - either a clean little un or just very vindictive! He is fed on a Sunday and the poop machine usually begins 2 days later. Small size on tues with larger attempts on thurs and sometimes even finishes up with a last gasp on saturday. The movement and extra exercise seems to prompt a movement! |

Hi Marlin. Thanks for the reply. We had Ezio out for a play today. Had to leave it a while due to his new surroundings, feeding and shedding.. but, he still hasn't been to the loo in 2 weeks. We feed him on a tuesday evening, 1st 2 feeds he pooped 2 days later, but since then, nothing and we're now 2 more feeds on. Thought the excercise today would prompt some action but seems not. Should we be concerned? Many thanks if u or anyone can advise :-) |

what substrate are you keeping him on - aspen or kitchen roll, since i moved harry onto aspen its difficult to tell when he's pooped usually my nose tells me but i can't find it, however i can tell from his shape whether he's holding onto poop as his back end near his vent can be more rotund than normal - a sign that he's getting ready to let it go |

We are currently using dust-free wood shavings which we use for the rabbit too.. pet shop guy said that was fine to use, i sure hope so. But i am happy to announce that Ezio finally pooped in the night - must have been the excercise yesterday. Can't believe we got so excited about a pile of poop this morning LOL. |
