I've just bought a new Rub for lilly who's outgrowing her current faun, but is still a little small for a viv (she's very thin and would escape the smallest gap i'm sure).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Really-Useful-Lightweight-Stackable-W255xD395xH155mm/dp/B000KN6L9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310314063&sr=8-1

This is link to the type of rub i've bought, do i need to put extra air holes in this type of box, i'm sure someone said somewhere there's enough air gaps already. Don't want her suffocating

I use both them and the supermarket own brand ones and I put holes in them with a solder iron. I found with the official RUB even though there are people that do not put holes in, even though mine had oles in it still became very full of condensation... so I put extra holes in it again and that sorted it right out. I would put holes in if I were you... Im sure I read somewhere that although there are air gaps in it it just lets stagment air out, and no fresh air in. Could be wrong, but Im pretty sure that is what I read. xx

The more holes the better the air flow. If stagnant air is been let out then fresh air has to be coming in somewhere. I wouldn't like to leave it without holes in the side, Its easy enough to drill the dimples (or soldering iron, or hot knitting needle) into holes, and it gives you a great template to keep it neat.

some of our 9L's have airholes, some don't, not had any problems with doing it either way with the corns/rats but the boas poo loads and get a lot of condensation if there's no extra ventilation
