1)Getting my new viv in the next couple of days . I have bought an led light strip that i want to put in to see him at night:-

I have bought the blue light strip i want to know if the blue will do him any harm or effect his behaviour and will he be safe?
2) Also i have heard the heatmat needs to be inside the viv as its a wooden one, but how have people attached the heatmat to the bottom of the viv and the probes to the top?
Any advice would help |

Depends how bright it is. They would need a very soft light for night time viewing (a moon light or something like that) or I'm sure from the snakes point of view no light at all.
I dont attach the mat the the bottom of the viv, no need really but I use hot glue to stick the probes to the mat though, thats the important thing. |

I'm sure I've read that the blue lighting is fine and if its led even better as it dont need a guard on it. You could just silicon the heatmat onto the viv floor, mine come with a sticky back to peel off and stick it down firm. Then the thermostat and thermometer probe elastic band together and pop them directly on top of the mat with a hide to hold it down. |

I dont have anything to hold the heatmat or probes down, the hides and stuff hold it in place fine and the thermostat and thermometer probes are banded together and just laid on top of the heatmat inside the warm hides and they stay in place fine also. |
