We've got a corn snake that's about a foot long and 6 months old. He's currently in one of the small plastic enclosures approx 8inches by 4inches.
I know they're meant to be kept in small enclosures while they're young or it can result in them getting stressed, but he's very active inside his little house and when we get him out he's very keen to move about.
I was wondering how old or how big he should be before we move him into his bigger house of about 12 inches by 6.
Thanks |

That sounds like Chinese takeaway tub size or bug tub size :P you can move him in now if you want to, I moved 3 month olds who were about a 1ft long or less into 10"10" tubs and they were fine although they had plenty of hidey holes and cover. |

you can go into a 2ft viv or 3 ft viv providing lots of hides, decor etc etc, so they dont feel vulnerable |

I foot long snake ion a 3ft viv is a bit hit and miss even with lots of hides and then if it's in a viv you have to make sure it is 100% escape proof since ones as young as that can squeeze through tiny spaces like viv doors. |

I recently moved my 6 month old into a 12x12x12" Exo Terra terrarium, he loves it and has settled in fine. He moved from a 7x7x7" breeder box. I'd never put a 6 month old in 2 or 3ft viv, I'd be too worried they would get through the sliding glass doors. |
