I'm still trying to find a solution to the glass being too tight for the viv lock, and my daughter isn't great at getting the wedges in secure enough.
I can't see how thick they are though, so no idea if they would fit either, but they do sound like a good solution! Anyone use these on their vivs?

Do you have a VivExotic of some flavour?

I've made two simple solutions:

1. Is a magnetic door catch very similar to the one shown in that advert but you get 2 for £1 in most hardware stores. I've checked the metal bar and it does fit the LX 36.

2. A kitchen sucker with a hook. Usually used for a tea towel hanger. I picked up a sheet of 24 for a £1.

Both work just fine after extensive snake escape attempts.

Sucker is shown in action in this topic, see post #4.

I don't have a viv exotic, just had a new stack made by a carpenter. I've been using the suction hooks, have 2 on it with 2 wedges...think I'm just a bit paranoid lol. I was very confident about the suction cup, but snake phobic Husband is worried it will pop off and the snake will escape and eat him in the night

Ha-ha! That particular suction hook has triple security rating. Stick, wedge and latch and costs buttons. It has proved effective with my determined lot and the wedge/latch combo means that it is almost guaranteed not to fall off. None of the three I use have ever 'popped off'.

Your custom viv probably has 6mm glass. This is possibly what is making the space between too narrow for the lock bar.

Only other suggestion is Securicor Patrols.

Ha ha, think I worry too much so will continue with the method I'm using...although securicor sounds a good idea
