Hey guys, i'm jake, im 19 from the uk, and I'm new to reptile keeping, but i have done my research.. just a few questions on settling in behaviour..

1. should my corn snake be watching my every move ?
2. will the biting go away? (had a close encounter when i moved her in)
3 when should i handle her and should i expect to get bitten?

she was born on the 5th of march, and has fed 3 times since, shes been home since 7pm GTM, and she seems a lil stressed at the mo, i'm just a little worried.

thanks all,

Jake

That all sounds like normal behavior. Remember, you're something massive that may be trying to eat her, so she will be defensive until she realises that you're not a threat to her.

As you've gotten her today, you should leave it 7 days before handling or feeding her. Just change the water and don't try to disturb her too much. After the week is up, try handling her for 5 mins, then feed her. After feeding, don't handle her for 2 days while she is full of food. She may well be jumpy, but she dosn't know you yet!

Congratulations. She is still a very young baby, less than a month old so I imagine she hasn't had alot of handling. As above leave her 7 days. I wouldn't handle her too much before her first feed as you don't want her to be stressed and not eat. Just take her out of her enclosure and put her in her feeding tub then straight back again afterwards. You can start handling her after 48 hours. I would also recommend putting something in her tank that smells of you like a glove so that she gets used to your smell. I also take the opportunity when I'm changing their water to run my hand over things in their tank and through the substrate so put my scent in there.

What size tank have you got her in?

She's just chilling :)
Corns are not like Kings, which are usually out a lot. Corns prefer to come out at dawn and dusk, but you might catch them out during the day.
