They're naturally curious and will try anything to escape. Mine linger around the vents in the vivs or nose the glass. Be warned: If they can fit their heads in it, they can get their body through it.

is something all snakes do, he is looking for a weak spot in his housing to make a run for it.

Be extra warned, they can collapse their heads quite flat and also their ribcage can be squeezed quite flat too, they can get through gaps that appear much smaller than them.

My corn is doing this at the moment, its not normal behaviour for him so I think its breeding season related. The important thing to make sure that (other than not been able to open the doors or squeeze through any gaps) there are no sharp bits around the doors and runners so they don't injure themselves.

Thanks guys and gals his viv is very secure its a brand new Vivexotic 36" and all joints and around vents have been sealed as per instrucitons and the sliding glass doors have a rubber wedge in.

@ Scalysituation i was thinking of getting another to start breeding sometime in the near future so watch this space.

Depending on how big your snake is the wedge on its own may not be good enough, they can get out in-between the glass as well. This post is worth a read
