Hi, we have two snakes which at the moment we have in separate vivs, one is about 9 months and the other is about 4 months,we're not sure on their sex, would it be safe for them to be put together now or at what point would it be ??? |

the simple, safest answer is no, never.
defo as you do not know the sex of them, and there is no point if you already have two set ups.
all opinion based on solid facts.

all i would say is have a read of the thread, make sure you're well informed of all the pro's and many con's before making a decision. There is a picture out there too of a slightly bigger snake actually eating a hatchling - enough for me NOT to want to cohabit. |

When I rescued my 2 they were living together and had been as long as they had been with the other person, and I thought how nice it was that Custard the snow was looking out for Rhubarb where she went he went and how cute they looked snuggled up together in their hides and he obviously needed looking out for as he was such a shy little person. Then I joined this forum and read the true reality of co-habiting and it scared me to death, new viv and all equipment later and 16 months on guess who's the most outgoing of the 2 yes Rhubarb he was being totally suppressed by Custard now he's the first one at the glass wanting to come out and interact he's now a happy and contented snake who is totally chilled out.
Only my opinion and obviously the choice is yours but think long and hard before you make such an important decision. |
