First the good news
Not sure if some of you know that Mrs Toggsy had treatment for Cancer last year.
Well we've just had the results back for her yearly check up and im happy announce all clear for this year.
Whilst she's not in remission just yet we get the all clear for another 4 years its a step in the right direction.

Now the bad news lol
Just got a large vet bill for the cat £82.00 for 10 mins worth of work.
My cat had been out scrapping with other cats and came back limping turns out where he had been bit it had turned into an infection.
Looking at the charges im in the wrong job I think.

Fantastic news about the cancer. My mum has been clear for about 6 years now but I don't think the worry ever leaves you completely. Each positive step forward is huge tho so pass on my best and my congratulations.

Vets bills are pretty ridiculous sometimes. The ones I object to are the consultation charges for follow up appointments. Sometimes you are only in there for 2 minutes but still charge silly money. The vet I took Connie to charges £25 initial consultation but still £22.50 for a follow-up. No wonder they always want to see you again lol.

yay for the good news! i can't complain about vets fees too much as our vets are pretty cheap and don't charge for follow up consutations! although their emergancy call out fee is cripping at £65 after 6pm and £100 after midnight!

They wanted £200 if they had seen him on the Sunday when he first wander in limping at first we thought he had been run over.
As for the follow up visit they wanted an additional £25 which I will add we refused to pay as once the antibiotics and anti inflamatorys had kicked in.
The swelling had gone down,he was eating and basically back to his normal self.

I agree with kdlang the worry never really goes away in regards to the cancer.
Every time Mrs Toggsy is really unwell we worry wether it's gone anywhere else in her body but this is normal.
I will add that whilst she had the cancerous lump and after she had had the lump removed she felt on top of the world.
It wasnt until she started the chemo that things started to change where she became very unwell.
At one point during her chemo treatment she was rushed to hospital where her imune system had collasped because of this she had picked up bug causing her to go down with pheumonia where she then ended up in isolation for 7 days on various drips and meds.

But now shes on the mend the hairs coming back slowly and shes not feeling so tired but its going to take time.

wow sounds like she was very lucky, that must have been a very stressful time for you all, glad she's now on the mend.
As for you vets can't say i blame you for not doing the follow up!! that is a lot of money. bet the cat was in bad books once you knew it was nothing too serious!

That's great news on the yearly check up.

That is a reasonable hourly rate for a vet, they have mansions and expensive cars to pay for........
