whenever khan is eating and she gets a wood chip in her mouth she always lets me take it out no fuss what-so-ever, just wondering if anyone else's snake does that
I feed mine in a separate box so I never have this issue. It can be harmful for your snake if they swallow chips do you put the mouse on a bit of kitchen roll in the viv to try and avoid this or have you tried feeding in a separate box?
Another reason for feeding outside the viv is to prevent the snake associating your hand with food. You might just be going in to clean up or change the water but your snake might get the idea it is dinner time every time the door opens.
I always have a normal handling session and general check over before moving into a feeding tub. Feed and let the mouse go down, leave for 5 minutes until the snake starts prowling. Then it is time to return to viv and leave undisturbed for 48 hours or until they become active again.
