My anery hatchling seems very docile the few times Ive handled it. But if im near its tub or if I open it to change it's water it sits with its mouth open a little bit.
Is this a common warning from corns? never seen another one do it. It hasn't coiled back at me or rattled its tail, just opens its mouth about half a cm. I'll try get a pic of him doing it.
It's happened quite a few times now, and just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Also, a couple of my hatchies have really dry looking scales, one of them even has little bits of shed coming off in places. Just worried that it could be dehydrated.. My tubs have milk bottle lids as water bowls, and they're near the edge of the tub so they can find them.. is there any thing else I can do to make sure they're hydrated?
Not sure about the first question regarding its mouth but.. Some of our hatchlings have dry looking wrinkly scales and some look like bits are flaking off I've seen some of them soaking themselves in their water bowls so i'm sure yours would find the water if they needed it I think dry scales is something that will go away after their first shed Ours have been a week and were still waiting on a shed but they've gone blue and back to normal so it should be any day now
