some snakes will be alot less active after feeding if the meal is a bit bigger than usual, normally sitting at the warm end to help with digestion, if you're worried you could simply clean him out? the new fresh smell makes my snakes active for a few hours once done?

If you haven't had him long that will contribute to him being a bit lifeless while he settles in how big is the viv? Snakes are aggrophobic so too big a space will scare them are the cohabbing snakes of equal size/weight/age?
a bit more info on your setup will help :) |

How big is the viv? Just to let you know bud before somebody else does, you need to seperate the snakes sharpish corns gain the ability to breed at an early age, however they are often too small to lay eggs without serious injury general guides say 3 years old or 300g in (healthy) weight
as for the subject at hand, i wouldn't worry too much, your set up sounds ok, just make sure the heat mat is only covering a third of the floor space in the viv, and maybe add an extra hide or two (one on hot end, one cooler end)
let me know how you get on :) ashby_steve

You've opened up a serious can of worms here! You're gonna be told to get that male away from the female ASAP! Aside from the early mating risks. Cannibalism among hatchlings is not unheard of. That's why people will only consider cohabiting same sex adult pairs usually. |

He could be due to shed. One of mine doesn't move for 7-10 days when he's going to shed and just sits in the hot hide the whole time. I wouldn't give up on them, but try to get a small cheap set up and separate asap. |

Yeah he bought them of me. Hopefully in a few years i will find out off him if they carry any hets. If his male is big enough in two season i might ask if he wants to go half on a clutch and i use his male with shelly |

Ahh i see good idea. I have a friend who bought one of my hypos last year.. think we're going to do some breeding once she's old enough, they were gonna buy a male off me this year but seen as only one of my eggs has hatched they might have to wait or get one of someone else.. new genes lol!

Yeah this cant just be skipped over, males and females cannot be kept together in this way. If that male matures sexually and the female WONT be ready he is going to do her so much damage and potentially kill her.
As for not moving, they do this all the time, my corn hasn't moved in a week, he is as blue as a suffocating smurf right now, you soon learn to read what they are doing (with the occasional curve ball thrown in). |
