hi there i have a yearling, had him since he was a hatchling, he was great, placid. recently moved him from a RUB to an exo terra and it seems that his temperament changed since he moved in there. last week at feeding time, i lifted him out of the exo terra to put into his feeding tub when he struck my hand and later refused his food, hes not in blue as he just shed 27 days ago. Tonight is another attempt to feed him, however his tail rattled and tried to strike me, My mum then lifted him out and he was not very pleased! he struck at her twice, rattled his tail but eventually calm down. i will attempt to feed him now.
Any explanations as why hes behaving this way? he was perfectly happy in the RUB until he moved, would it be a good idea for him to move back to a bigger RUB or...? |

sounds as though he's just become viv defensive of his new territory. short daily handling sessions will hopefully calm him down |

Yep agree with the above
Good luck, hope he settles soon. I completely understand it is nerve wracking even though you know it wont hurt...but the key is confidence, if you don't have it, fake it |
